PRIMARY PURPOSE:


Under general supervision, support the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and HVAC systems and equipment for the district. Responsibilities include changing air conditioning filters as scheduled.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation

Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations

Competence in diagnosing and resolving technical issues

Familiarity with hand and power tools

Experience:
Experience in the electrical field

Experience in HVAC operations

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Maintenance and Repair


1.1 Assist in the installation and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and machinery components in accordance with electrical codes, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.

1.2 Aid in the installation and repair of control and distribution devices, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, and circuit-breaker panels.


1.3 Support the installation and connection of power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical devices for machines and equipment in both new and existing facilities, following diagrams and schematics.


1.4 Assist in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit using appropriate tools and equipment.

1.5 Help maintain all heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

1.6 Support the relocation and expansion of existing HVAC systems as required.

1.7 Assist in fabricating, assembling, and installing ductwork and piping according to specifications and codes.

1.8 Participate in duct cleaning and air quality assessments as necessary.

1.9 Complete work orders as assigned.

1.10 Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized.

1.11 Identify necessary repairs on equipment following established inspection protocols.

1.12 Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

2. Safety
2.1 Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.

2.2 Operate tools and equipment in accordance with established safety protocols.

2.3 Ensure that all equipment is in safe working condition.

2.4 Adhere to established safety procedures and techniques while performing job duties, including lifting and climbing.

2.5 Address unsafe conditions in the work area and report any non-correctable issues to the Maintenance Director immediately.

3. Other
3.1 Attend training sessions as required.

3.2 Perform additional duties as assigned by the HVAC Maintenance Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

EQUIPMENT USED:
Meters and testing devices, gauges, soldering tools; wire pullers; pipe benders and threaders;

welding equipment; hand and power tools (saws, drills, etc.); trenchers; jackhammers; concrete

saws; ladders; hoists; propane torches. Light trucks or vans.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical/Environmental Factors:
Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent travel across the district.
