The Quality Lab Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory, overseeing daily activities, and implementing testing standards and policies. This position requires a strong leader who can supervise lab personnel, improve their performance, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise safety measures in the lab and assist lab personnel in improving their performance.
- Ensure timely completion of all testing, including special project and protocol testing.
- Implement quality and regulatory requirements, such as FDA, GLP, QSR, cGMP, USP, and CDR rules and guidelines, and ensure compliance with testing SOPs and specifications.
- Supervise testing techniques and accuracy of all records and documentation in the lab.
- Participate in proactive functions that impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, improve quality, and provide new product support.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and audited, and make appropriate staffing decisions.
- Prepare, review, and revise SOPs and specifications as required.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration, and internal audits are performed on schedule.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a biological science with Analytical Chemistry or Laboratory coursework.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting procedures for lab equipment, and quality and regulatory requirements pertinent to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing labs.
- Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with subordinates, peers, and managers.
- Must not be allergic to penicillin and cephalosporin drugs.
- Must not be color blind.
Baxter is committed to equitable pay for all employees and strives to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 - $104,500 annually. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
