Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Professional to join our team at Midland Public Schools. As a Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teachers and providing one-on-one tutoring to students in grades 1-5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Classroom Teachers: Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instructional support and assistance to students in grades 1-5.
  • One-on-One Tutoring: Provide individualized tutoring to students identified as Title 1, focusing on early literacy instruction and other curricular content areas.
  • Organization and Time Management: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Positive Guidance: Provide positive guidance to students, communicating dignity and respect in all interactions.
  • Curriculum Expectations: Explain curriculum expectations to students, following directives from the classroom teacher.
  • Professionalism: Work professionally with staff, students, and other providers to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Technology Skills: Demonstrate basic understanding of technology and its applications in the classroom.
  • Attendance and Reliability: Maintain dependable attendance and be reliable in meeting commitments.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Early Literacy Instruction: Have experience with early literacy instruction and be able to provide evidence of this experience.
  • Highly Qualified: Be Highly Qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind.
