Position Summary:

The CAD Operations Lead will oversee a team of CAD Designers, primarily utilizing AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault, to optimize CAD processes. This position entails coordinating the efforts of a team of up to ten CAD Designers, with a focus on the design of industrial control panels and the maintenance of controlled drawings and standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Engineering department in creating and documenting Electrical Schematics, PI&Ds, and panel layouts.
  • Establish and uphold procedures to ensure compliance with CAD standards.
  • Evaluate and implement productivity improvements and customizations, including automated quality assurance checks.
  • Provide technical guidance for the transfer of CAD data to the Production CNC machinery.
  • Educate internal stakeholders on corporate CAD standards, new software, upgrades, and best practices.
  • Deliver production and technical support for all CAD software applications.
  • Facilitate regular CAD meetings to keep the CAD Group informed of new developments.
  • Allocate CAD Designer resources to suitable projects.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in CAD Technology.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical, with a strong background in UL508A Control Panel design.
