Pulmonary Medicine Nurse Specialist

About the PositionThis role offers a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment with access to the latest technology and research. Our 10D/G Pulmonary Medicine Unit is a 29-bed Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant Step Down unit, where we care for patients with advanced lung conditions, including cystic fibrosis, COPD, asthma, scleroderma, sleep apnea, sarcoidosis, and pulmonary hypertension.
We are involved in various research trials, such as COPD Valve and Bone Marrow Transplant patients, and frequently receive patients from the Medical ICU with high acuity, noninvasive ventilation, tracheostomies, and nocturnal trach vents. Our nurses value teamwork, professionalism, and excellent patient care, which is reflected in our commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
Your ResponsibilitiesYou will apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. This includes formulating daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers their individual needs in a holistic manner.
You will demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care within an episode of care. You will also practice solid communication skills, articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers, and negotiate changes in patient care and unit practices.
You will be responsible for creating a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. You will actively participate in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts, identify opportunities for quality improvement, and take personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.

Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is around $85,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have at least 1 year of nursing experience and a BSN degree. You should also possess strong critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
