Position Overview: As a Unit Secretary at Coast Plaza Hospital, you will serve as the primary administrative support for the nursing unit. Your responsibilities will include fostering positive communication with nursing personnel, performing clerical tasks, and ensuring a safe and organized patient care environment. Your role is vital in supporting departmental operations and enhancing communication, in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Coast Plaza Hospital, with a focus on AIDET standards for patient interaction.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Essential skills include critical thinking, commitment to service excellence, strong interpersonal communication, ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, organizational capabilities, and proficiency in computer usage.
  • Demonstrated ability for critical judgment, independence, patient-centered care, teamwork, and flexibility in adapting to changing schedules and patient requirements is necessary.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of medical terminology.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Certifications:

· General Requirement: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.

For Emergency Department:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or an equivalent certification is necessary (AB508 and SB1299).
