Key Responsibilities
  • Erecting Safety Barriers: Safeguard workers from traffic hazards and alert motorists and pedestrians of potential dangers.
  • Excavation Preparation: Break up pavement using specialized tools to prepare for pipe removal or repair.
  • Pipe Installation: Maneuver and secure pipe sections, valves, and fittings into place.
  • Assisting Maintenance Tasks: Support technicians in cutting, threading, brazing, and soldering of pipes as directed.
  • Driving and Vehicle Maintenance: Operate company vehicles and ensure regular upkeep.
  • Shoring System Installation: Assist in installing and removing shoring systems as needed.
  • Adhering to Safety Protocols: Consistently follow established guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Perform manual labor, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Mathematical Skills: Demonstrate basic mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measurement.
  • Language Skills: Possess sufficient reading, writing, and speaking abilities to communicate effectively.
  • Relationships with Data, People, and Things: Interact with data, people, and objects in a manner that requires attention to details and precision.
Work Environment
  • Confined Spaces: Regularly enter excavations or large meter vaults.
  • Exposure to Weather: Work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
