Job Summary:

Amergis is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Tech to join our team. As a Cardiac Catheterization Specialist, you will assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in the Cath/EP Lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in an invasive procedure arena.
  • Perform basic diagnostic catheterization procedures on adult patients with known and suspected congenital and acquired cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Perform basic interventional procedures, including PTCA, stent preparation and placement, IABP placement and operation.
  • Perform basic EP procedures, including EP studies, implantation of pacemakers, ICDs, BIV ICDs, and ablations.
  • Operate physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain established professional standards and observe all safety requirements to achieve a high level of quality patient care.
  • Continually attend in-service training classes to keep critical patient care and equipment skills current.
  • Responsible for patient transport and maintaining good communication with the patient.
  • Prepares sterile procedure tray and patient sterile field appropriately for specified procedure type.
  • Observes all occupational and radiation safety regulations and wears all required personal protective equipment.
  • Acquires and accurately documents pertinent patient data on encounter form and enters into hemodynamic and X-ray systems.
  • Assists physician with EP Diagnostic and Mapping systems, including Carto, EPMed, and ESI.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of CCAHEP or ASCP/SCP accredited program preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in biology, anatomy, physiology, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab preferred.
  • ACLS/PALS per contract requirements.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
