We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors, obtain accurate information, and maintain confidentiality of patient records
- Process patient check-in, scheduling, and payment transactions in a timely and efficient manner
- Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Retrieve, file, and scan medical correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily accounts receivable activity
- Provide exceptional customer service, empathy, and compassion to patients and families
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; previous medical office experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
