We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing a variety of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurodiagnostic tests, preparing test results for physician interpretation, and adhering to our performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality control procedures on cameras, computers, calibrators, and survey meters.
- Prepare radionuclides for administration to patients.
- Interview patients to ensure correct identification and pharmaceutical for correct procedure and provide patient education.
- Administer radioactive pharmaceutical to patients through IV injection.
- Perform nuclear medicine dynamic and static imaging procedures on patients.
- Process studies using computer analysis, sending images for interpretation via a network transfer.
- Provide communication of information about Nuclear Medicine studies to Radiologists.
- Maintain records needed to ensure licensure by regulatory agencies.
- Perform various tasks associated with receiving, processing, distributing, storing, and disposing of radioactive materials.
- Maintain ALARA for self and patients.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure appropriate and timely patient examination.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures.
- Graduate of a nuclear medicine technology formal education recognized by the ARRT or NMTCB.
- Licensure by the State of Iowa Public Health Radiation Safety division required.
- BLS.
- Mandatory Reporter.
- High language, high math, high reasoning ability.
- Personal computer skills required.
- Ability to perform multiple simultaneous tasks.
- IV injection skills preferred.
- Ability to communicate with patients in a caring, compassionate manner.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
