We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at the Coast Guard Community Services Command. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve made-to-order espresso, other beverages, snacks, and food items.
- Perform tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks, such as setting up food service counters and side service stands.
- Assist customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales.
- Provide quality beverages and food products consistent with established recipe and presentation standards.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to sell associated products.
- Serve food and beverages.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Operate a cash register according to standard cash control procedures.
- Make correct change.
- Take physical inventories.
- Clean equipment and workspace.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience with common sanitation standards in preparation, handling, and serving of food and beverages.
- Ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler's Training.
- Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds and continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, pull, and bend for long periods of time.
- Previous work in a food service or related industry.
- One-year or more experience in food service or related industry.
