Position Summary:
The Surgery Center-Shrewsbury is looking for a Per Diem X-Ray Technician to cover a minimum of three shifts per month at our Shrewsbury, MA location. This role is essential in delivering high-quality imaging services in a patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to all established policies and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
2. Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the examination process to ensure understanding.
3. Verify that patients are free from any contraindications and hazards.
4. Position patients accurately and ensure their comfort throughout the procedure.
5. Maintain continuous visual and verbal contact with patients during examinations.
6. Conduct x-ray procedures in accordance with center protocols.
7. Complete all necessary documentation related to patient exams.
8. Enter patient data into the Tech Data Entry program.
9. Provide films or CDs to patients when appropriate.
10. Forward completed data and films to the Radiologist after the exam.
11. Assist clerical staff as needed.
12. Clean and restock equipment and examination rooms as required.
13. Administer contrast as necessary.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Certification in CPR is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid MA State license.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of three months of prior experience in x-ray technology is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to assist patients with mobility challenges.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of twenty-five pounds. These physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.
Interactions:
This position involves extensive interaction with various stakeholders, including patients, families, referring communities, and other employees. Regular communication with contractors, vendors, and medical transport personnel is also expected.
