Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute tailored educational programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring instruction is adapted to their individual styles and requirements.
  • Deliver direct teaching in core subjects, social skills, and behavioral strategies aligned with students' IEP objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with general education staff, support personnel, and families to track student development and modify teaching methods as necessary.
  • Leverage assessment data to guide instructional choices and create suitable interventions that enhance student learning.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports students' social-emotional growth and nurtures a sense of community.
  • Keep precise and current records of student achievements and engagement in accordance with educational regulations.
  • Engage in IEP discussions, parent meetings, and professional growth opportunities to promote ongoing improvement and student achievement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement or the ability to secure such certification.
  • Experience in working with elementary students with disabilities in a specialized educational environment.
  • Familiarity with effective practices in special education, including IEP formulation, differentiated teaching, and behavior management strategies.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a proven track record of effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and community partners.
