Overview: In collaboration with the medical team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers exceptional patient care within a multidisciplinary environment. This role encompasses providing care to individuals across various age groups, including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, ensuring a comprehensive approach to health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families.
- Respond effectively to the needs of patients and their significant others.
- Assist in recognizing patient issues, setting goals, and facilitating communication with healthcare providers and the care team.
- Support the scheduling of patient appointments, diagnostic tests, admissions, and follow-up on physician directives.
- Help prepare medical equipment, examination rooms, and manage laundry services.
- Exhibit personal accountability and demonstrate strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
- Build and maintain a compassionate and therapeutic rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Provide general patient care under the supervision of healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a formal LPN program or a CMA/RMA program (preferred) or a high school diploma with CMA/RMA training.
- Experience: A minimum of one year in a clinical environment is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Required - BLS (CPR), LPN - Successful completion of the NC Nursing Boards for LPN and maintenance of an active, unrestricted LPN license, or CMA/RMA - Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant, with ongoing CMA certification.
