About the Role

This R&D Product Engineer opportunity is part of the Research and Development Department, supporting the design and development of new products, improvement of existing products, and sustaining engineering. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in mechanical design, analysis, materials, testing, data collection and analysis, and report writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Part design, material selection, design analysis, and design documentation
  • Product design, development, testing, and validation
  • Lead product troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis
  • Manage projects, including timelines and budgets, and work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test plans, and reports
  • Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and reliability/performance
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required, with 2+ years of professional experience preferred
  • Experience with hands-on work in a research and development environment, including experience in piping and plumbing and water treatment technologies
  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) generation, and engineering change process and documentation
  • Project management experience, including budgeting/scheduling, and working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD and part design and documentation, with Autodesk Inventor software a strong plus
