Urology Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Urology Assistant to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Urology Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the urology team in providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing patients for urologic procedures, including shaving, clipping, and prepping as required.
- Apply aseptic techniques and disinfection principles to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Identify and apply sterile technique principles to ensure patient safety.
- Handle equipment safely and ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Assist in room turnover and set up for procedures, including preparation of items/instruments for sterilization.
- Store and rotate instrument trays, and open sterile supplies using sterile technique.
- Prepare procedural fields with sterile supplies and preps patients for urologic procedures.
- Ensure patient safety by exercising aseptic techniques and preventing hazards related to the environment and equipment.
- Participate in Universal Protocol and adhere to standard precaution guidelines when handling/transporting specimens.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the unit.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Outpatient Urology experience preferred
- EPIC Ambulatory experience preferred
- Two years direct patient contact preferred
- Certified Nurses Assistant, Medical Assistant, or other equivalent
Walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
