As the Lead Structural Engineer at Lakelands, you will be responsible for overseeing the comprehensive development of precast concrete products, ensuring excellence from the initial design phase through to customer acceptance. This position requires robust leadership, technical acumen, and a dedication to quality control and client satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with management, operations, manufacturing, and sales teams to foster a seamless and efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct design calculations, create drawings, prepare specifications, perform design analysis, and develop construction cost estimates.
- Engage with architects, designers, and contractors to facilitate the design and construction of projects.
- Continuously enhance Lakelands' drafting standards, including the selection and implementation of relevant technologies.
- Review all project drawings to ensure adherence to standards and clarity for production.
- Regularly assess the stock product catalog for relevance and design efficiency.
- Manage relationships with outsourced engineering vendors.
- Champion industry certifications and present new certification opportunities to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with certifying agencies.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, and active participation in professional societies.
- Develop and deliver product presentations to the engineering community.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties
- Recruit, train, and manage members of the engineering team.
- Provide ongoing constructive feedback to promote the professional growth of team members.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to client sites, project locations, and industry events may be necessary.

Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in design, construction, and/or manufacturing settings.
- Experience with large-scale projects, including engagement with municipal, state, and private sector clients.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating engineered shop drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
