About the Position

The City of Boerne is seeking a highly skilled Urban Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Planning Department, this role will play a vital part in shaping the future of our community.

Job Summary

This position involves performing professional engineering work for private and public development projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, contractors, and consulting engineers, as well as coordinate with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with city codes, ordinances, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to property owners, developers, staff, other city departments, outside agencies, elected and appointed officials, and the public.
  • Assist the development community, business owners, and residents through the development process, providing excellent customer service and a solutions-based approach.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field. Five years of progressive responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. A master's degree may substitute for one year of municipal planning experience. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted. A Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain license within twelve months of hire is also required.
