Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Operations Specialist to join our team at Centers. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patrons and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Event Preparation: Participate in security briefings before each event to ensure a thorough understanding of the event layout, guest list, and any specific security concerns.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report from designated assignment areas to ensure the safety and security of our patrons and staff.
  • Communication: Communicate all security and crowd-related issues to the Security Supervisor or Manager on Duty in a timely and effective manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide an outstanding customer experience by answering general facility and program questions, monitoring building reservations, directing members and guests to proper locations, and educating patrons on building policies.
  • Policing and Enforcement: Enforce policies and standards for the entire facility, as set forth by the department.
  • Risk Management: Serve as the primary organizer in risk management situations to ensure all staff members are performing their responsibilities properly.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure that all risk management measures have been taken and continually monitor all facility activity and program areas.
  • Facility Maintenance: Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the entire facility.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend all staff meetings, monthly meetings, and communicate as needed through email, group messaging, and telephone.
  • Event Support: Assist in set up and break down duties as assigned.
  • Procedure Adherence: Follow and adhere to all procedures and guidelines.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Observational Skills: Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Verbal Communication: Authoritative verbal communication skills.
  • High-Pressure Situations: Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Property Knowledge: Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
  • Security Training: Security guard training certification preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including active listening.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Policing and Enforcement: Ability and willingness to enforce policies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with patrons, staff, stakeholders, etc.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Office and Events Environment: Office and events environment.
  • Non-Smoking Environment: Non-smoking environment.
  • Noise Level: Moderate to loud noise.
  • Flexible Hours: Maintain flexible hours for events that occur on weekends and evenings.
  • Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the work day.
  • Walking and Working: Walking or working events.
  • Traversing the Property: Must be able to traverse throughout the center.
  • Lifting and Moving: Must be able to lift, move, and set up items weighing as much as 50 lbs.
  • Patrolling the Property: Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
  • Physical Ability: Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
