Position Summary:

The Tax Associate, reporting to the Tax Manager, will be instrumental in providing timely forecasts, tax estimates, and comprehensive tax analysis for the organization. The role includes the preparation and submission of various tax documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit sales/use tax and 1099 reports for all relevant entities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive dashboard for owned parcels, assessed property taxes, and property tax appeals.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of year-end partnership tax returns across all entities.
  • Provide daily updates on the status of tax returns during the filing season.
  • Collect and compile data for cost segregation studies and other applicable tax credits.
  • Support the maintenance of forecasts and estimates based on various capital event scenarios.
  • Respond to all tax notices (Federal, State, Local) and develop solutions to any issues.
  • Maintain tax basis schedules for all entities and investors.
  • Support fund administration, client/investor relations, and related financial processes from a tax perspective.

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in public accounting (tax).
  • Experience with real estate partnerships, REITs, or private equity is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas for processing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with property accounting is preferred, especially in multi-family contexts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on precision and thoroughness.
  • Willingness and capability to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not mandatory.
