Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $72,000-$90,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to perform imaging procedures at our Harrison City office. As a member of our team, you will work primarily daylight shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing correlative breast examinations and documenting scars, moles, and pertinent findings.
  • Providing individualized breast self-examination instruction and discussing the importance of annual clinical breast examinations.
  • Identifying patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilizing universal protocol when performing procedures.
  • Reviewing patient history and assessing physician orders to apply specific departmental protocols for optimal results.
  • Documenting patient history in electronic records as required.
  • Possessing strong skills with radioactive material safety.
  • Performing mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner, including proper application of breast compression, positioning, and special views to maximize diagnostic quality.
  • Preparing patients for mammography procedures and ensuring their physical safety and comfort.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills to instruct patients clearly and concisely, and explain procedures to alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
  • Ensuring all exams within your area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS systems, and all charges are adequately entered for performed exams.
  • Assisting with invasive breast imaging procedures, such as ultrasound and stereotactic guided needle biopsy.
  • Performing equipment quality control procedures using radioactive sources and evaluating results to ensure equipment performance meets acceptable standards.
  • Administering PO and IV contrast per physician orders and department policies, and assessing patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of an approved Mammography Training Course that fulfills MQSA requirements for certification.

Licensure and Certifications

You must obtain Mammography registration within 12 months of hire date and hold current certifications in CPR or BLS. Act 34 clearance is also required.
