We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team at Methodist Ambulatory Surgery-Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and contribute to the success of our ambulatory surgery center.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced RN PACU Nurse who shares our passion for delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring safe and effective nursing care rendered postoperatively until patients are dismissed from the facility.

  • Prepare patients' care areas adequately and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
  • Demonstrate proper airway management techniques and monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
  • Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
  • Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation of patients utilizing an approved scoring system in line with HCA policy and procedure.
  • Check dressings and/or operative sites of patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families.
  • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing.
  • At least 1+ year of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery.
  • An active RN license as required by the state of employment.
  • BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not accepted).
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • PALS if required by the facility within 30 days of hire.

Salary and Estimated Earnings

The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Your total compensation package will also include additional benefits and incentives, contributing to your overall earnings potential.
