Essential Duties:

  • Manage purchase orders and transfers to balance inventory levels effectively.
  • Leverage technology to enhance order processing efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, negotiating pricing and terms.
  • Address inventory-related issues promptly through daily communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of open purchase orders and ensure timely updates.
  • Coordinate with vendors and sales teams on special promotions and pricing strategies.
  • Regularly assess inventory to identify slow-moving or obsolete items.
  • Implement strategies to manage defective or surplus materials.
  • Propose new products or part numbers for management consideration.
  • Oversee the return process for defective or surplus items.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies.
  • Work with finance teams to address billing errors and terms of sale issues.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy in the inventory management system.
  • Foster a positive work environment through cooperative communication.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a purchasing or procurement role, with industry knowledge.
  • Experience in inventory management and reconciliation.
  • Strong negotiation skills and established relationships with suppliers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry products.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in purchasing (CPP, CPPM) are a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
