This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records. As a Medical Office Scribe, you will work closely with medical providers to document patient information, gather data, and coordinate tests and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany medical providers during patient examinations to gather information and document patient details.
  • Thoroughly document patient information, including chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and other relevant details.
  • Propose orders in the electronic health record (EHR) based on clinical setting.
  • Document details of procedures, treatments, laboratory test results, and radiology test results.
  • Verify test results and ensure they are recorded in the medical record.
  • Select patient education materials from the EHR as instructed by medical providers.
  • Assist with preparing paperwork for patient discharge.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Two years of experience in acute care or multi-specialty clinic using electronic medical record software or maintaining medical records.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
