Respiratory Care Professional Inpatient Float Position

This position is responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients in various hospital settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up, operating, and administering respiratory care equipment and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators as ordered
- Evaluate therapeutic objectives and outcomes
- Transcribe verbal orders from physicians in the medical record
- Perform arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, co-oximetry, electrocardiograms, electrolytes, and other basic pulmonary function testing
- Administer aerosol therapy, nebulized medications, metered dose inhalers, flutter therapy, PEP therapy, incentive spirometry, and oxygen administration
- Assist with the transportation of mechanically ventilated patients to other patient care areas
- Perform routine respiratory care treatments and oxygen administration in adult, pediatric, and neonatal areas
- Collect soiled equipment from patient areas, transport to the respiratory therapy department, and clean, disinfect, sterilize, and package respiratory care equipment as needed
- Graduate of a 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care program
- Less than 10 months of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- 6 months of experience for Network float position
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
This position is part of the HonorHealth Network Float Pool, which supports the Inter-Campus Floating division. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality care to patients in various hospital settings.
