Job Overview

Douglass Community Services, Inc. is a leading provider of Early Childhood Education services in the region.

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team at our Bowling Green, MO location.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves providing exceptional learning experiences for young children, fostering their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional growth.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with each child's parent/guardian, ensuring effective communication and collaborative approach.
  • Work closely with other adults in the classroom, promoting teamwork and delegation of workload to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Coordinate daily educational activities, adhering to DCS policies, Missouri State licensing, and Head Start Performance Standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for total classroom management, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment that supports children's growth and learning.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of an Infant/Toddler CDA, with Associates or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred or a degree in a related field with relevant experience & coursework.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact positively with young children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to write developmentally appropriate lesson plans, manage classroom strategies, and document outcomes.
  • Reliable transportation and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $52,000 - $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
