KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and IT Systems Administrator to enhance our Weaponeering And Stores Planning (WASP) team. This role involves overseeing infrastructure management, including configuration and data management, as well as systems administration for critical computer laboratory assets essential for systems and software engineering, testing, and evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive IT support within a Windows Active Directory environment, deploying standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) on commercial hardware. Assist with Azure DevOps-based source control systems.
  • Deliver Department of Defense Cybersecurity support, including executing STIGs, addressing vulnerabilities, and formulating plans of action and milestones (POA&M).
  • Enhance the cybersecurity posture of the DoD Information System by utilizing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) tools, such as Tenable ACAS, Evaluate-STIG, or SCAP Compliance Checker, in accordance with DoD/DoN guidelines. Manage the DoD Information System package in eMASS through all phases of the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve Authorization to Operate.
  • Coordinate and schedule system maintenance in a production environment. Assess COTS/GOTS solutions for software and hardware support. Provide on-site assistance to team members and government clients regarding office IT issues. Oversee application support, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Engage in direct customer support, troubleshooting issues, understanding requirements, and implementing new capabilities. Document and update guides, manuals, diagrams, and other necessary deliverables. Execute tasks to comply with the contract Performance Work Statement and perform day-to-day sustainment duties as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Citizenship and Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with an existing Department of Defense Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Education: An Associate degree in IT or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a similar discipline is preferred.

Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security + CE certification OR one certification from each of the following categories.
  • Category 1, IAT-II: (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
  • Category 2, IAM: (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, HCISPP)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-6 years of experience in IT and supporting Cybersecurity programs as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
  • Recent familiarity with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) network scanning process.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience in supporting an Active Directory-based environment.
  • Proficiency in updating and renewing SSL Certificates.
  • Familiarity with eMASS, VRAM, or XACTA.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation for ATO, Disaster Recovery Plans, etc.
  • Experience performing System Administrator duties.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) network scanning.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP and SP Risk Management Framework.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 or later.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft System Center (Data Protection Manager, Virtual Machine Manager).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps 2022 or similar tracking systems.
  • Experience with US Navy network systems.
  • Ability to record and track hardware configuration of system assets.
  • Interest in professional development and skill mastery.
  • Understanding of general cybersecurity principles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a full-time on-site position, Monday through Friday, with options for a flexible work schedule as needed.
