Perioperative Nurse

The Pre-Operative Nurse (Pre-op RN) at Golden Ridge Surgery Center is responsible for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, Joint Commission, Medicare, and all other applicable federal, state, and local guidelines. This role involves caring for patients within the scope of practice for the facility, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The Pre-op RN will admit, evaluate, assess, and teach patients to prepare them for their procedure or surgery. Additionally, the RN may perform CLIA waived laboratory testing as ordered and communicate patient assessment information to the attending physician.
Responsibilities
The PACU RN plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients in the PACU department. This includes providing care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. The RN makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members and providers. The Pre-op RN may also have additional responsibilities, such as serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and other projects.

The salary for this role is $32.50-$45.50 per hour.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the Pre-Operative Nurse must have a graduate degree in nursing and be currently licensed in the state. The RN must also have one year of experience in a peri-operative setting and demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. The Pre-op RN must be physically and emotionally capable of performing the responsibilities of the position. USPI complies with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If offered this position, the candidate must show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to the start date. If an exemption is granted, the candidate will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
