The Staff Speech Language Pathologist, reporting to the Rehab Service Manager, provides direct and indirect patient care services. This role primarily works with pediatric and adolescent patients from diverse backgrounds, while also treating adult and geriatric patients. Under general direction, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist plans and administers speech therapy services for patients with various voice, swallowing, and upper airway impairments and disabilities.
Key responsibilities include evaluating patients using speech language pathology tests and measurements, establishing therapeutic intervention goals, and implementing treatment plans. Additionally, the Staff Speech Language Pathologist maintains patient records related to care delivery and may supervise support personnel and interns.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Minimum 12 months experience as a licensed therapist.
- Prior experience with voice, swallowing, and upper airway evaluation and management in pediatric and adolescent patients.
- Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
- Awareness of signs of distress.
- CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills.
