Job Summary

AdeIphi MedicaI Staffing is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for a 9-week contract position in Bethel Park, PA. As an LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients under the guidance of RNs or physicians, encompassing tasks like medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Direct Nursing Care: Administer medications, perform wound care, and monitor vital signs under the guidance of RNs or physicians.
  • Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conduct physical exams, medical histories, and medication reviews to craft personalized care plans.
  • Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments meticulously, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to established protocols.
  • Wound Care and Management: Evaluate, clean, dress, and manage wounds, incisions, and injuries while actively monitoring for infection or complications.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor and meticulously document patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, prescribed medications, and self-care practices, with a focus on overall well-being.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Address Patient Comfort and Safety: Address patient comfort and safety requirements, including positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Medical Emergencies: Respond swiftly and effectively during medical emergencies, adhering to established protocols and delivering basic life support as necessary.
  • Infection Control: Adhere rigorously to infection control procedures, encompassing proper hand hygiene and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent infections from spreading.
  • Medication Handling: Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies, in strict accordance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Health and Wellness: Foster health and wellness by promoting preventive care measures like vaccinations and screenings, and aiding with health assessments.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support.
  • Ongoing Education: Stay current on nursing best practices, regulations, and advancements through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Valid LPN State License: Possess a valid and active Licensed Practical Nurse State license.
  • BLS Certification: Hold BLS certification.
