Job Summary

The Vice President of Human Resources and Culture is a key leadership position at Central Lakes College, responsible for providing strategic direction and vision for the college's human resources activities. This role oversees the recruitment, training, development, and engagement of talent for all divisions of the institution, with a focus on promoting a relationship-based culture that respects and honors the talents of employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer personnel and labor relations policy for approximately 250 classified and unclassified administrators, managers, faculty, professional, clerical, and maintenance employees.
  • Recruit, onboard, and engage employees through various programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement employee performance management systems.
  • Provide leadership and staff training and development opportunities.
  • Classify, compensate, and benefit employees in accordance with college policies and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Supervise the Human Resources office and provide confidential advice to the president and administrative team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • Five or more years of successful and progressively responsible professional experience in human resource management.
  • Demonstrated high level of skills in leadership, management, supervisory, organizational, and human relations.
  • Demonstrated competence in interpreting and complying with federal and state legislation, and state, system, and college policies.
  • Demonstrated genuine commitment to inclusiveness and shared governance in leadership and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in public sector and/or higher education human resource management.
  • Experience in employee relations/labor relations, including negotiating and managing collective bargaining agreements.
