Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Urology Technician to join our team. As a Urology Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our urology team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and vital signs, and document all relevant information.
  • Explain procedures to patients and communicate findings with RNs and physicians.
  • Assist with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations, cystoscopies, and UDS studies.
  • Perform urinary catheter insertions and removals, and assist with minor surgical procedures.
  • Collect and prepare specimens, and send them to testing laboratories.
  • Communicate abnormal results to providers, and clean and restock rooms, supplies, and equipment.
  • Transport patients, and perform delegated clinical tasks with written provider orders.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited school or documentation of a medical program that meets the criteria of a medical assistant program.
  • Trained in urological procedures through vocational or post-hire on-the-job physician training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification, and relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare-related experience.
