About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ASIC Design Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a member of our complex group, you will have the opportunity to craft upcoming products that will delight and encourage millions of Apple's customers every single day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write microarchitecture and/or design specifications
  • Design, implement, and debug complex logic designs
  • Integrate complex IPs into the SOC
  • Support all front end integration activities like Lint, CDC, Synthesis, and ECO
  • Implement design automation via Python or other languages
  • Work with other specialists that are members of the SOC Design, SOC Design - Verification, Emulation, STA, and Physical Design teams
  • Collaborate with software and systems teams to ensure a high quality system
Requirements
  • Experience in SoC front-end ASIC RTL digital logic design using Verilog or System Verilog
  • Hands on experience in all aspects of the chip development process with proficiency in front end tools and methodologies
  • Experience writing specifications and converting them to design
  • Experience with multiple clock domains and asynchronous interfaces
  • Experience or knowledge of system architecture, CPU & IP Integration, and power and clock management designs is highly desirable
  • Experience in front-end implementation tasks such as synthesis, timing, area/power analysis, linting, and logic equivalence checks
  • Experience in low-power design techniques such as clock- and power-gating is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all internal groups
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl or Python or Tcl is a plus
  • Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB) is a plus
  • Familiarity with security concepts is a plus
  • Familiarity with software and operating concepts is a plus
Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree + 3 Years of Experience

Additional Requirements

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
