This role contributes significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional value to our clients through both technical proficiency and administrative excellence. Successful candidates will play a vital role in upholding a high standard of diligence and organizational responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a range of general accounting tasks while supporting accounts payable and fixed asset reporting.
- Oversee and assess financial transactions and activities for designated accounts.
- Compile monthly and annual reconciliations and financial statements to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and established protocols.
- Maintain precise records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial information.
- Prepare journal entries and manage account reconciliations.
- Assist in generating various special reports as needed.
- Ensure accounting controls and audit documentation are maintained.
- Engage in special projects, team training, and professional development.
- Support the processing of accounts payable and verify appropriate accounting treatment for all transactions.
- Contribute to the formulation, evaluation, and revision of accounting policies, procedures, checklists, and related documentation concerning assigned duties.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory, with a preference for studies focused on Cost Accounting.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience is preferred, ideally within a Department of Defense contracting environment.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint cost accounting software is advantageous.
- The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker capable of managing a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.
