General Summary
The Physician will be tasked with delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care to assigned patients. Care may be provided in various settings, including outpatient, sub-acute, or acute care environments. A full-time commitment is defined as a minimum of forty (40) hours of direct patient care or administrative duties each week, typically spread over five (5) workdays. On-call responsibilities will be distributed fairly among physicians in accordance with their specialty.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all patient services in line with established standards.
- Support the mission and objectives of UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives as assigned.
- Oversee the administrative duties of non-physician staff working alongside the Physician.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures, including those related to personnel, payroll, training, and billing.
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and CLIA standards.
- Contribute to budget development and management, including expense reviews and reconciliations.
- Exhibit professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions.
- Foster positive patient relations and maintain a courteous demeanor.
- Participate in community outreach and visibility initiatives.
- Collaborate with administration to adapt practice approaches for enhanced productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Engage in disease management programs to optimize care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current medical license to practice in the State of Maryland is required.
- Board Certification in the relevant specialty is mandatory.
- Current DEA or equivalent certification for controlled substances is required.
- Clinical privileges at a UMMS affiliated facility are preferred.
- Must meet ongoing CME requirements for licensure and board certification.
- Demonstrated qualifications and experience relevant to the role are essential.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with all levels of staff, patients, and visitors.
