Work Schedule and Compensation:
This is a full-time role during daytime hours, with on-call responsibilities shared among team members. The salary range is competitive, from $24.50/hr to $33.50/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess an Associate's Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field, which is essential for effectively maintaining and repairing clinical equipment in a healthcare environment.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician I or higher in a medical facility is required. Familiarity with basic LAN/WAN integration is advantageous for collaboration with various teams.Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Department Manager and senior technicians, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating essential clinical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments.
You will engage with clinical staff to identify technology-related challenges and devise effective solutions. A Biomedical Equipment Technician II is expected to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a diverse array of clinical devices. You will also participate in and facilitate on-the-job training programs that encompass technical, administrative, and customer service aspects.Aim to progress to a Biomedical Equipment Technician III by demonstrating advanced skills in managing complex clinical devices and systems, mentoring junior staff, and developing leadership and administrative capabilities.
Adhere strictly to the departmental Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP). Regularly review "Corrective" and "Scheduled" Open Work Order reports to ensure timely completion of work requests. Procure necessary parts or vendor services to uphold equipment standards as per manufacturer specifications. Coordinate and supervise third-party activities as needed.Additional Insights:
This role reports to the BioMed Manager and is part of a collaborative team across multiple locations. Work alongside a dedicated team in a dynamic setting. This position will involve liaising between vendors and imaging departments to ensure operational efficiency. The manager emphasizes the importance of adaptability and patience in this role.
