About the Role:
This position requires a surgical technologist with experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgeries. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and safely, ensuring that surgical procedures involving the heart and vascular system run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Preoperative Preparation: Set up the operating room with specialized instruments and equipment required for heart and vascular surgeries.
- Intraoperative Support: Pass instruments, sutures, and devices to the surgeon during cardiovascular procedures.
- Postoperative Duties: Clean and restock the operating room, ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and stored.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perfusionists to ensure a seamless surgical workflow.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow strict infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
Requirements:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training.
- Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience as a surgical technologist, particularly in cardiovascular or thoracic surgeries.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This is a 13-week contract with 40 hours of work per week.
