We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Sovah Health - Martinsville. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant data.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by maintaining open communication, providing feedback, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or compact state.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in the Operating Room.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
