Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a diverse range of challenging engineering tasks.
  • Utilize electrical engineering principles and analyses within the discipline.
  • Demonstrate full professional competency at this level.
  • Exhibit proficiency in the application of engineering theories and practices.
  • Engage in assignments that may include CAE/CAD applications.
  • Be prepared for potential travel or relocation as required.
  • Execute complex engineering tasks with efficiency and precision.
  • Extract and interpret engineering data from CAD drawings.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Complete documentation such as drawings, specifications, and other procurement/construction materials.
  • Collaborate frequently with other engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Possess knowledge of advanced 3D Computer-Aided Design techniques using software such as AUTOCAD, Microstation SE, V8 (2D & 3D), PDS, Excel, and ETAP.
  • Provide field support to construction teams, including interfacing with personnel to determine corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawing submissions and conduct technical bid evaluations.
  • Draft and distribute specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Offer technical mentorship to CAD Designers, Drafters, and junior Engineers.
  • May provide professional engineering seal and signature as appropriate.
  • May serve in an advisory role to senior management on engineering-related issues.
  • Perform additional responsibilities associated with the position as necessary.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • A 4-year degree in Engineering (or a related field) and over 8 years of relevant work experience are required.
  • Kentucky Professional Engineer registration or a Professional Engineer license from another state is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other engineering-related software is essential.
  • Familiarity with project software such as Microsoft Office Suite, ETAP, Microstation, EERaceway, AGI32 lighting, and AutoEDMS 6.5 is required.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel SETROUTE software is advantageous.
