POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Engineering Team Leader will oversee a group of engineers and technicians dedicated to establishing, documenting, and maintaining efficient injection molding processes. This role is essential for ensuring the successful introduction of new tooling and enhancing existing processes through cost-saving measures and capability improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of up to 10 process engineers and technicians across multiple shifts, ensuring operational excellence.
- Work closely with quality assurance, tooling, and maintenance teams to set and prioritize Process Development goals.
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members, manage timecards, and coordinate training initiatives.
- Collaborate with product and tooling design teams to facilitate the transition of new injection molding tools into production.
- Utilize structured experimentation to validate modifications and repairs to injection molding tools.
- Develop and enforce systems for Process Standardization and Control in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Partner with the Director of Engineering to foster the growth and development of the Process Development team.
- Travel requirements: 0-25%, primarily within the domestic region.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred. Additional qualifications such as American Injection Molding Institute (AIM) certification are advantageous.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to lead technical teams in delivering high-quality products and processes under tight deadlines. Experience in implementing controlled molding processes and familiarity with molding simulation software, particularly Moldex3D, is highly desirable.
Expertise in injection molding equipment and auxiliary systems is essential for success in this role.
