Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the instruction of infants to preschool-aged children through activities that foster intellectual and creative development.
  • Ensure a fun, safe, and nurturing learning environment in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Provide essential care for children, including feeding, diapering, potty training, and comforting during nap times.
  • Adhere to established schedules and routines to promote adequate physical activity, rest, and play.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with both students and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's growth and development.
  • Assist in the creation of lesson plans that align with the Creative Curriculum framework.
  • Help monitor and document each child's developmental progress and learning achievements.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with various resource agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in childcare, education, healthcare, or related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with KDHE licensing requirements, CACFP food program, curriculum-based methods, and positive discipline strategies is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must successfully complete a KBI background check as mandated by KDHE licensing; prior fingerprinted KBI background check is preferred.
  • Completion of a fingerprinted background check and training is required before engaging in classroom duties.
