Role Responsibilities:
This position plays a crucial role within the Mission and Ministry Department, collaborating with staff to address the holistic needs of patients, families, and colleagues. Utilizing music and music therapy techniques, you will:
- Conduct assessments and administer therapy to enhance physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being across all age groups.
- Facilitate individual and group music therapy sessions, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
- Provide mentorship and supervision for music therapy interns under the guidance of the Internship Director.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while fostering a culture of trust, belonging, and hope within the healthcare team.

Value Proposition:

- Serve as a resource for team members, contributing to meetings and discussions regarding patient and staff needs.
- Participate in program development and assist with rounds as necessary.
- Mentor interns and lead music therapy sessions for diverse age groups.
- Uphold the standards set by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and engage in research initiatives.
- Conduct presentations and in-services for hospital staff to promote awareness and understanding of music therapy.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy.

Preferred Experience:
- 1,200 clinical hours of music therapy fieldwork, including an internship in a medical setting.

Licensure and Certification Required:
- MT-BC (Music Therapist – Board Certified) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).

Preferred Certifications:
- NICU-MT certification
- Neurologic Music Therapy designation.
