Job Summary

As a key member of our Career Development Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS) standards for assessment and authorized vocational rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Assessment: Ensure adherence to ORS standards for assessment and authorized vocational rehabilitation services, including Pre-Employment Transition Services.
  • Referral Review and Database Management: Review referrals of students to determine eligibility for service and evaluation procedures, maintaining a database of referrals.
  • Vocational Assessment and Counseling: Determine students' vocational interests, aptitudes, capabilities, and needs utilizing a variety of vocational assessment tools and strategies, providing vocational counseling on an individual and/or group basis.
  • IEP/IPE Meetings and Goal Development: Attend IEP/IPE meetings and assist with integrating assessment results into appropriate transition/vocational goals and objectives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain ongoing communication with ORS counselors, students, parents, and other professionals regarding students' progress, ensuring necessary accommodations for students with hearing and visual impairments.
  • Project Support and Reporting: Work with other project staff in meeting the overall goals of the project, submitting all required reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Services, or other related field, with three years of experience working with youth with disabilities.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated report writing skills in the area of vocational evaluation, strong communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of Special Education and Rehabilitation laws, regulations, and services, and computer skills with knowledge of current assistive technology.
