Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Completes admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients, including behaviors, and accurately documents within the set timeframe.
  • Critical Thinking and Judgment: Utilizes critical thinking skills and judgment to analyze patient assessment data and notify physicians of changes in condition.
  • Treatment Planning: Participates in the development, review, and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans as per policies and procedures.
  • Documentation and Communication: Documents all nursing care given and adheres to nursing standards and ministry policies and procedures. Consistently and accurately implements and records physicians' orders.
  • Patient Safety and Education: Assesses and monitors patients and environment for safety within the unit. Educates patients and families based on assessed needs and documents education provided in the Electronic Health Record.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
