Job Summary
Nemours Children's Health is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Orlando, Florida. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to identify physical therapy needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide individualized physical therapy services to patients, including exercises, stretches, and other interventions to promote optimal physical function and mobility.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
- Develop and implement educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote physical therapy knowledge and skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in pediatric physical therapy through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in pediatric physical therapy required.
- Florida State License to practice Physical Therapy required.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
- Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, FPTA) preferred.
- Prior pediatrics experience preferred.
Working Conditions
This is a PRN position, providing coverage as needed in our acute care, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings. The role requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with hours per week varying based on need.
