The Warehouse Sanitation Specialist is accountable for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the grocery distribution center, including administrative areas. This role ensures that the facility and surrounding grounds are kept in pristine condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning tasks for both warehouse and office spaces.

  • Utilize power sweeping and scrubbing equipment to clean warehouse floors effectively.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, including procedures and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of safety protocols related to equipment and material handling.
  • Proficient in using box cutters and other manual tools.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
  • Capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and productivity.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • At least six months of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Certification for operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see clearly at various distances and focus on tasks.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 40 lbs consistently.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier items, up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, or squat as needed.
  • Occasional sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb or balance when necessary.
