About the Role:
As a Pharmacy Technician at Emory Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Technician II.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure, prepare, package, and distribute medications and pharmaceutical supplies to assist in providing quality pharmaceutical care for all patients.
- Maintain an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies, and re-order and stock items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability.
- Ensure pharmacist product verification and facilitate the timely and appropriate distribution of medications to maintain product integrity.
- Maintain accurate records and patient profiles, including charging and crediting.
- Respond timely to customers' needs by answering phone calls, receiving and distributing messages, and triaging requests appropriately.
- Conduct regular quality assurance inspections focused on TJC requirements, including the examination of product integrity and expiration.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred.
- 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred.
- Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
- Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.
