Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Centralia Elementary. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting of floors, walls, and surfaces
  • Empty trash and recyclables, and replace liners in waste receptacles
  • Restock supplies, including paper products, cleaning solutions, and personal care items
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and buffers
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and cleanup of classrooms, cafeterias, and playgrounds
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the facilities manager
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in janitorial work or a related field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-call position with no guaranteed hours. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Department of Justice background check prior to employment.
