Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach welding classes to students at Danville Community College, including day and evening classes for program-placed and non-program-placed students.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet industry and certification standards.
  • Maintain current competence in the field of welding and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement educational programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as welding engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of welding, including experience in teaching or training.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and to effectively teach in classrooms and labs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Certifications in welding, such as AWS or NCCER.
