About the Role:

CMTA Inc is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc.
  • Interacting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze clients design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.

Requirements:

  • 8 years of experience with MEP design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Massachusetts PE registration is required
  • Experience with internal and external project management
  • Experience in MEP design and specifications
  • Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
  • Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
